Why I Don’t Believe in Perfect Websites
I love a polished website. Clean, cohesive, intentional: the kind that looks like everything has fallen into place. But “perfect”? That’s another story.
Perfection is flickering. It changes shape the moment you reach for it. The site you adore today might not feel right in a year, not because it was bad, but because you changed. Your business grew. Your focus shifted. Your audience evolved.
That’s why I don’t believe in perfect websites. I believe in evolving ones.
The biggest thing I see holding people back from launching is not bad design; it’s a lack of clarity. They don’t yet know what their message is. They tweak endlessly, searching for a version of the site that feels “right,” when really, they’re trying to figure out who they are as a business.
That’s where collaboration helps. I often suggest clients chat with Angelique from Kitsa Creative. Her Marketing Blueprint helps people find that clarity: the “why” behind their business. Once they have that, the endless tweaking stops. They know what their website needs to say, and decisions start to flow easily.
When I design, I still aim for excellence. I’m picky. I like everything to be in its best shape possible. But I also know that good enough can be powerful. If it’s not cutting it, we can refine it later. Sometimes you need to step away, let your brain rest, and come back with fresh eyes. Often, what you thought was “good enough” turns out to be pretty great. And if not, that space you’ve created will make room for new clarity.
Working with me is a process. I don’t just build and vanish. I guide you through it, step by step, making sure you’re never alone. We meet several times, we refine, we adjust, and when it’s time to launch, you’re ready: not always perfect, but always proud. And that’s what really matters.
So if you’ve been sitting on a half-finished site, waiting for it to feel “perfect,” my advice is simple: hire me. I’ll help you. I’ll guide you. And together, we’ll get as close as possible to the website you wanted. Then we’ll launch it into the world: because being proud of your website will always matter more than it being perfect.
